Chris Robertson's Home Page

Version 2.0

Well, here it is. The long-awaited, eagerly-anticipated version upgrade of my simple, but elegantly interfaced, home page! Once again, there are currently no graphics to distract from my eloquent and invigorating prose. Strictly textual information with no distracting pictures or design elements that take away from the pure experience of your html viewing pleasure. If you're reading this page, you probably already know me anyways, but I'll tell you a little bit about myself 'cause I got nothing better to do.

I currently live in San Francisco, after having lived in Los Angeles for almost two years. It feels good to be back in the Bay Area and to be able to ride a bicycle around without having my lungs burn. I'm currently working as a dispatcher for Lightning Express, a motorcycle and bicycle messenger company located in SOMA. Although the technophobes at Lightning don't have a home page, you can get some information about the local messenger community and a few companies by checking out the San Francisco Bicycle Messenger Association.

Another reason that it's good to be back in San Francisco is that the beer is much better up here. I can always hang out with my favorite home-brewers at a San Andreas Malts meeting. Or I can pick up an issue of the Celebrator to see where the newest brew-pub is opening up. If there's nothing new and exciting I can always go with an old standby by bicycling over to the San Francisco Brewing Company or motorcycling across the Golden Gate Bridge to the Marin Brewing Company. Or after riding home in the rain, maybe I'll just warm up with a few sips of single malt scotch whisky.

The one saving grace of living in Los Angeles is that I got to spend awhile working in the film industry. Although I worked in the camera department on quite a few films, I still can't seem to find my name in the credit lists at the Internet Movie Database. But it is a good place to get information on just about any movie, actor, or director that you may be wondering about. It's also a good source of cross-referenced film credits to use if you feel like playing a few rounds of Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon.

In addition to working on films, I like to watch plenty of them as well. My tastes range from the thought provoking work of master director Stanley Kubrick to the mind-numbing inanity of the crazy production team at Troma Films. But no matter what I feel like watching, I know that I can find it at the Greatest Video Store in the World, Le Video (conveniently located 6 blocks away).

So anyways, I really don't feel like typing anymore, and you must be really bored or desperate to have gotten this far along, so I think I'll just give you a few more links and send you on your merry way:

See ya later...
